As part of the Staff and Student Mobility Program between the School of Nursing, Walailak University, Thailand, and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Malaysia, visiting professors from IIUM delivered an academic session on “Innovation in Malaysia” for faculty members and nursing students at Walailak University.

The session featured three presentations: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Hazariah Abdul Hamid on “Innovation Project on Adolescent in Malaysia,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lee Siew Pien on “From Evidence to Innovation: Adolescent Shared Decision-Making (ASDM) Toolkit for Type 1 Diabetes Care,” and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norfadzilah Ahmad on “Innovation in Nursing.”

A highlight of the session was a presentation by an IIUM nursing student representative, who shared an award-winning innovation with Walailak University students and faculty members, promoting knowledge exchange and inspiring innovative thinking in nursing.

Following the presentations, the IIUM professors shared their research interests and ongoing research projects with faculty members of the School of Nursing. The session provided an opportunity to exchange research ideas and explore potential areas for future research collaboration between Walailak University and IIUM.

The activity further strengthened academic collaboration between the two institutions while promoting innovation, research networking, and international knowledge exchange in nursing education.
