School of Nursing, Walailak University Strengthens International Academic Collaboration at the 1st IIUM National Renal Nursing Conference and IICON 2026
As a co-host of the 1st IIUM National Renal Nursing Conference, held in conjunction with the 4th IIUM International Conference of Nursing (IICON) 2026 on 6–7 June 2026, the School of Nursing, Walailak University, Thailand, was honored to collaborate with the Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in promoting academic exchange and international collaboration.
A highlight of the conference was the keynote lecture by Associate Professor Dr. Jom Suwanno, entitled “Collaborative Care in Managing Chronic Diseases: Integrating Innovation and Practice.” His presentation highlighted interdisciplinary chronic disease management, the integration of nursing innovation into clinical practice, and the application of research evidence to improve patient care and health outcomes.
Representing the School of Nursing, Lect. Sopida Thipsawat, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, also participated in the conference, engaging in academic sessions and networking activities with nursing scholars and healthcare professionals from various countries.
The School of Nursing sincerely appreciates the warm hospitality extended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamil Che Hasan, Dean of the Kulliyyah of Nursing, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasanah Pairoh, and all faculty members and staff of IIUM. The conference further strengthened the partnership between the two institutions and reinforced their shared commitment to advancing nursing education, research, and international collaboration.
