Walailak University’s School of Nursing Commemorates Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra on National Nurses Day 2025
On 21 October 2025, the School of Nursing, Walailak University, held a ceremony to commemorate Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, on the occasion of National Nurses Day 2025. The event was organized to express deep gratitude and appreciation for Her Royal Highness’s boundless benevolence and lifelong dedication to the advancement of nursing and midwifery in Thailand.
The ceremony comprised a series of meaningful activities, including:
A morning almsgiving ceremony and religious rites dedicated to merit-making in remembrance of Her Royal Highness.
A wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to the Princess Mother.
A scholarship presentation ceremony for nursing students, jointly organized by the School of Nursing and the Walailak Nursing Alumni Association, to encourage and support nursing students in their academic and professional pursuits.
The event was attended by administrators, faculty members, staff, and students of the School of Nursing, who gathered to demonstrate their respect, gratitude, and loyalty, as well as their commitment to continuing the Princess Mother’s noble legacy. Her Royal Highness devoted herself to improving healthcare and uplifting the quality of life of people across the nation, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.
In her honor, the School of Nursing reaffirmed its commitment to embracing Her Royal Highness’s vision as a guiding principle in education, research, and academic service—striving to produce professional nurses who embody compassion, competence, and dedication to caring for individuals and communities.
National Nurses Day, observed annually on 21 October, marks the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, revered as the “Mother of Thai Nurses.” The day serves to honor her immeasurable contributions to the nursing profession and to celebrate nurses who selflessly dedicate their lives to the health and well-being of the Thai people.
