Miss Chayamol Janthong Represents Thailand at APEC Youth Meeting in Taipei

Taipei, Taiwan — Miss Chayamol Janthong, a second-year nursing student from the School of Nursing, Walailak University, proudly represented Thailand at the APEC Youth Meeting hosted in Taipei. This prestigious international event brought together young leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region to collaborate on pressing regional issues and share innovative solutions for the future.

On the first day of the program, Miss Janthong engaged in sessions introducing the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG). She also participated in a practical workshop on Effective Communication Skills, enhancing her ability to engage and collaborate across cultures. In the afternoon, she joined networking activities and participated in a mock election, exchanging perspectives with youth representatives from various APEC economies.

On the second day, participants from each member economy presented proposals on assigned topics. The Thai delegation, with Miss Janthong as a key presenter, addressed the theme “APEC Future Skills for Employability.” Their proposal was well-received, gaining support from eight other member economies. The group later visited cultural and historical sites in Taipei as part of the program’s immersive learning experience.

Reflecting on the experience, Miss Janthong shared:

“At first, I felt nervous because I was the youngest delegate, but everyone was so friendly and open-minded. I learned so much from peers across the region. This opportunity made me realize that age is not a limitation—it’s a motivation to keep improving and contributing.”

Her participation highlights the global outlook and potential of Walailak University students and underscores the importance of empowering youth voices in shaping future policy and regional cooperation.
